Implementing Make Your Move…A Guide to Homeownership as a comprehensive homebuyer education program can give your clients much-needed knowledge about buying a home. Make Your Move takes the student through the entire homebuying process and beyond the closing, and is the most comprehensive, most measurable, and most useful tool for homebuyer education. As in all of ACCE programs, Make Your Move is reviewed annually to ensure that the material is up-to-date.
The nationally standardized Make Your Move program has been successfully used in a wide variety of organizations, to include credit counseling agencies, HUD-approved housing counseling agencies, housing assistance agencies, and with realtors, lenders, and IDA programs. The program meets HUD and Fannie Mae guidelines and is endorsed by a state housing authority. The possibilities for Make Your Move to enhance communities are virtually endless.

students can complete the program by obtaining a nine-lesson workbook, Make Your Move. This program is available either in print in both English and Spanish: Haga Su Moviemiento, or online in English. Make Your Move can be taught by a facilitator or teacher, or it can be self-taught by either online education or a text self-study. Chapter reviews follow each lesson and are evaluated on a pass/fail basis. When students successfully complete the program, your agency can issue a uniquely-numbered certificate that serves as a record of their accomplishment.

In addition to the traditional textbook format, Make Your Move is available completely online. With online delivery, there are additional cost savings for your agency. The online audio reader provides your student with six hours of instruction. Your virtual classroom would be available around the clock, making it possible for your agency to educate and experience revenues while you tend to other things. A secure online database stores all of your student data, program activity, and testing results and is available to track and create reports in many different ways. Details about demographics, time spent, pre-assessment and program review scores, evaluations, comments, and more are tracked effortlessly for you. Printable reports can be customized to fit your needs through various search functions and versatile Excel spreadsheets.

The online program serves you in multiple ways. You can use it to simplify the tracking, scoring, and reporting of your classroom and self-study students. This means all of your students can appear on the same report, or you can focus on specific segments. The online program can also serve as a “testing only” device for students who prefer reading a book, which saves your staff valuable time. You are free to choose and establish your own automated registration and payment platform. We have also established an automated registration platform with a major electronic payment processor, and there will be more payment options to follow. Vanco Services can provide your agency with a customized payment platform for your Make Your Move students to use. The payment page transfers paid students directly into the Make Your Move system, allowing them to pay and complete the program entirely unassisted.
After successfully completing the program, the graduate can be awarded a certificate to serve as a record of their success. These certificates can be verified by any lending institution or other interested third party. They can log on to our secure Certificate Verification Site and enter in the individual-specific certificate number whether the graduate completed by online or classroom delivery.
