How to Choose An Education Partner

When you’re looking for an education provider for your financial education curriculum, there are some important considerations to help make your decision easier. Here are some of the things you should consider when looking at different providers:

  • Do they update their materials regularly? What does “regular” mean to them; more specifically, when did they last issue an update?
  • Do they offer a continuous quality improvement plan?
  • How knowledgeable are they about your industry?
  • What materials do they charge extra for? For example, will you receive PowerPoints, a landing page, and a facilitator’s guide for no additional cost?
  • Is there a fee to link to their website?
  • Are they promoting themselves personally over the education materials?
  • Do they have a knowledgeable, full-time staff that can readily answer your questions and provide student technical support?
  • How often do they increase their prices? Specifically, when was the last price increase?
  • How many different methods and delivery modes can they offer their program in?
  • Do they present themselves as a resource, or are they simply an education vendor?
  • Do they track the comments that completed students have made?
  • How long have they been in business?
  • How will the IRS view your relationship with the provider?
  • Does your business with the provider create a questionable for-profit relationship?
  • Are you bound by contract to purchase a certain or minimum number of units?
  • Do they have a plan to track results and provide the outcome results that your agency needs?
  • Do they provide any free marketing assistance, such as brochures?
  • Do they have a history of successful foundation support for their programs?
